Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat) has announced the transformation of its SheHacks initiative into a nationwide movement, aiming to enhance digital inclusivity and support women’s empowerment in Indonesia’s technology sector.

Launched five years ago as a technology-driven program, SheHacks now operates as a broader movement, highlighted by the introduction of SheHacks 2025 and the #UnlockingShe campaign. The initiative seeks to address the gender gap in technology and digital entrepreneurship by providing women with greater access to opportunities and resources within the digital landscape.

Reski Damayanti, Chief Legal Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, commented, “SheHacks is no longer just a program. It is now a movement-a movement to dismantle the barriers that prevent women from dreaming, creating, and leading. Through SheHacks 2025 and #UnlockingShe, we aim to build a broader and more inclusive space for women to innovate, empower each other, and drive real change.”

A key development this year is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UN Women, reinforcing Indosat’s commitment to fostering an ecosystem that supports women’s empowerment. The initiative also involves strategic partnerships with the Australia Indonesia Institute and nine other organizations.

Over the past five years, SheHacks has engaged women across Indonesia, resulting in more than 30,000 technology-based solutions and innovative ideas. These contributions include digital businesses in rural communities, student-led solutions for disabilities, and efforts to create safer digital spaces for women.

Indosat’s #UnlockingShe campaign calls on stakeholders-including government, private sector, and communities-to support increased access to technology and leadership roles for women. “SheHacks is a space where women encourage each other, learn together, and grow into changemakers. We believe that Indonesia’s digital future can only be realized when everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute, including women,” added Reski Damayanti.
