Applications are now open for the Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund 2025 (HSEF2025), a funding programme by Yayasan Hasanah in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance. The fund is designed to support Malaysian social enterprises that demonstrate measurable social or environmental impact, with grants of up to RM100,000 available per recipient.
Now in its fourth year, HSEF2025 focuses on the Seeding Path category, targeting enterprises in sectors including sustainable agriculture (food security), mental health and aged care, circular economy, arts and heritage, ecotourism, social mobility, and education. Both new and existing social enterprises are eligible to apply. Existing recipients may apply for a conditional grant that combines a grant with a zero-interest loan.
Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Trustee and Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah, commented, “We’re witnessing a paradigm shift in the role of business in society. Today, social impact is not the domain of a few—it is embedded in how businesses operate, employ, and innovate. At Yayasan Hasanah, we’re proud to support social enterprises that are driving this transformation—pursuing commercial success grounded in purpose.”

The fund is open to Malaysian enterprises that are either proven or have strong potential to become commercially viable while maintaining a clear social or environmental mission. The application and deployment process is facilitated through a network of intermediary partners with local expertise, including Asia School of Business, Iskandar Investment Berhad, Youth Trust Foundation (myHarapan), Satu Creative, Sabah Creative Economy & Innovation Centre (SCENIC), Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC), Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC), and Petronas SEEd.Lab.
Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, scalability, and outcomes that align with long-term social or environmental goals. Yayasan Hasanah states that all applications and evaluations are conducted according to high standards of governance and audit.
Since its inception, the fund has supported a variety of enterprises, including Vanilla Impact in Sibu, Sarawak, which focuses on sustainable vanilla farming and community employment, and Teman Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, which provides trained caregivers for the elderly. According to Yayasan Hasanah, the fund has contributed to upskilling over 10,000 underserved individuals, created more than 500 jobs, and delivered clean water to rural communities.
Applications are open subject to fund availability, and full eligibility criteria are available on the Yayasan Hasanah website.
