CelcomDigi collaborates with leading EV charge point operators to expand charging infrastructure nationwide

CelcomDigi Berhad has announced a strategic collaboration with Malaysia’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charge point operators, JomCharge and Yinson Greentech’s chargEV, to accelerate the deployment of EV charging points nationwide.
Through this partnership, CelcomDigi, via its Innovation Centre, alongside JomCharge and chargEV, will install over 100 EV charging points in commercial areas such as shopping malls and street locations, as well as residential areas, by the end of 2025. This initiative underscores CelcomDigi’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s EV ecosystem while delivering sustainable solutions for its customers.
CelcomDigi’s chief innovation officer, Kugan Thirunavakarasu, said that as Malaysia’s EV market continues to grow rapidly, the company recognises the urgent need to expand the country’s charging infrastructure and improve accessibility, making it easier for Malaysians to embrace sustainable mobility solutions.
“We are excited to collaborate with JomCharge and chargEV to extend our service offerings beyond telecommunications, integrating connectivity and green tech solutions into our customers’ daily lives. Our commitment to making EV services more accessible aligns with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and climate goals, reinforcing our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy adoption in Malaysia. At the same time, this initiative enables us to reward customers who choose to contribute to ‘green’ causes while minimising environmental impact.”
As part of this collaboration, CelcomDigi customers will enjoy a US$2.2 (RM10) discount on charging sessions at CelcomDigi-partnered EV charging stations with JomCharge and chargEV nationwide. This offer is valid from 1 March 2025 to 31 December 2025 and can be redeemed through the Celcom Life and MyDigi apps at selected JomCharge and chargEV stations, encouraging greater EV adoption among Malaysians.
